Ukrainian flax and coriander in demand in the EU – Ministry of agrarian policy
The practical implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in addition to the opening of the EU market for Ukrainian products will stimulate the production and export of niche crops, in particular flax and coriander. About it on March 21 on the page in Facebook said the Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Vladislav Rutytskaya.
"The possibilities of EU market and stimulate entrepreneurs to invest in this direction," she said.
The Deputy Minister informed that the acreage of flax in Ukraine amount to 35 thousand hectares mainly in Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. "These figures are extremely low when compared with the possible potential. While the market is holding back the shortage of quality seeds and especially cultural practices. Although the profitability of flax production is potentially much higher than, for example, wheat. Flax seeds are in demand in the EU. The increase in production will lead to increase of export deliveries to our key partners in Turkey, Israel and Egypt. Ukrainian flax is non-GMO, and this significantly enhances its competitive advantage over flax in North America," – said V. Rutytskaya.
She also added that the Ukrainian coriander in demand not only in the EU but also in Asia, and "the level of profitability of this crop is tremendous."
"Given the fact that the ethnic markets in the EU increases every year, demand for this crop will grow. Therefore, the Ukrainian coriander will continue in demand", – considers the Deputy Minister.

The German farmer Günter Mejne from Volfenbyuttel has found huge egg weighing 184 grams which applies for the status of "the second egg of the world" in the hen house.

This fact motivates domestic producers to modernize production and to introduce higher quality standards of production. Unfortunately, today only two Ukrainian companies have got permission to export of egg products to EU countries among which there is Ovostar Union Group.
